Navy Pier

5–15m

A working Australian Defence base pylon site near Exmouth — the only operator licensed to run it controls guided, slack-tide-only access with photo ID required. Resident sand tiger ("grey nurse") sharks, wobbegongs, large groupers, and turtles; day-boat/pier access, no liveaboard needed. Confirm current operational status before booking — the site has had Defence-related maintenance closures.

When to go

A fringing reef accessible directly from shore in places. Ningaloo's famous whale shark season (Mar-Jul) and its resident manta rays are both snorkel-only encounters by Western Australian regulation and universal operator practice — not something you scuba dive with here. Real scuba diving is a separate product: Navy Pier, a working Defence-base pylon site with resident sand tiger ("grey nurse") sharks and turtles, plus ordinary reef dives from Exmouth/Coral Bay.
