Cabeço da Sapata
20–42 m
A natural amphitheatre and underwater pinnacle at the western tip of the main island, dropping to 42m with strong currents from the open sea — big sharks, turtles, rays, and groupers, plus "traveling fish" schools. Exceeds even the locally-quoted 30m Advanced Open Water depth limit; for experienced, current-comfortable divers. Day boat from Porto de Santo Antônio, no liveaboard.
Caverna da Sapata
10–18 m
A cave (15m high, 30m long) at Ponta da Sapata, genuinely diveable by both Open Water and Advanced-certified divers — a real level contrast to the current-swept wall/pinnacle nearby. Southern stingrays rest on the sandy bottom; a resident large grouper has lived here for years. Day boat, no liveaboard.
Quand y aller
A UNESCO World Heritage volcanic archipelago and Brazil's best-known dive destination, with visibility well above what is typical along the mainland coast. Also home to the world's largest population density of spinner dolphins, at Baía dos Golfinhos — but that is strictly a clifftop-viewpoint encounter; entering the bay (swimming, snorkeling, or by boat) is prohibited for conservation reasons, so it is not represented here as a dive-site wildlife entry.
